“Abaı murasy – álemdik mádenıet qazynasy”

On November 21, 2019, the Kazakh national academy of choreography hosted the international scientific and practical conference “Abaı murasy – álemdik mádenıet qazynasy» dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great thinker, philosopher, educator Abay Kunanbayev.

The conference was attended by prominent scientists, art historians, public figures such as the Director of the State reserve-Museum of Abai “Zhidebay-Borili”, candidate of philological Sciences, associate Professor Aubakir Zhandos Magazbekuly, candidate of Philology, philosopher, Abay studied Omar Jaleluly, Honored artist of the Kazakh SSR, candidate of art criticism, Professor of the Kazakh national academy of choreography Izim Toigan Ospanovna took the position, doctor of philological Sciences, Professor Eurasian national University named after L. N. Gumileva Gulnara Ilyasovna Kuldeeva and composer, senior lecturer of the Kazakh national academy of choreography, laureate of international and national competitions Zharmukhamed Taskyn. Presentations of scientists from Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and from different regions of Kazakhstan were broadcast in video format.

The participants of the conference could not but notice the peculiarity of this conference, which manifested itself in the reflection of Abay’s work in literature, the art of choreography and music. The musical works performed from the stage by the invited artists once again allowed to feel the depth of musical and poetic images of Abay.

The poetic marathon based on the materials of Abay’s creativity gave a special tone to the event. At the beginning of the conference, the Academy students prepared a video presentation with Abay’s poems in French, German, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Polish, and at the end of the event, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers present in the hall, picked up a flash mob recitation of Abay’s poems.

A collection of materials was prepared for the day of the conference, which included the works of the participants of the international conference. The research presented in the collection covers a wide range of issues: from the creation of a dialogue platform to discuss the role and place of Abay in world culture, the study of the influence of the individual on the development of culture (art, education) of his people in different generations, to the conditions for the revival of contemporary interest in historical events and facts.
