Academy teacher conducted a master class in Baku

Alila Alisheva, Director of Educational Work and Social Development of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography (hereinafter – KNAC), held a master class in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, from January 22 to 26.

Alila Alisheva was invited to Azerbaijan to deliver a master class and present diplomas to students of the Baku Academy of Choreography.

This is Alisheva’s second visit to Azerbaijan. Last June, the teacher conducted a series of master classes for students and teachers, and chaired the final state certification commission at the final examinations of the college of the Baku Academy of Choreography.

For several years the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography has been fruitfully cooperating with the Baku Academy of Choreography. For example, colleagues from Azerbaijan have visited Kazakh National Academy of Choreography to exchange experience; Professor Lyudmila Gasanova from Baku was a member of jury at the Contest of young choreographers held by KNAC. In addition, a number of Azerbaijani students were trained at the KNAC as part of academic mobility, and this academic year a master’s student of the Baku Academy of Choreography continued his studies at the doctoral program of KNAC.

Alila Alisheva is an honored worker of Kazakhstan, professor of the Pedagogy Chair of the Choreography Department at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography and a holder of a sign “For Development of Culture and Art” of the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly Council as well as honorary certificates and letters of thanks of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan.

The Baku Academy of Choreography is an educational institution of Azerbaijan with traditionally high artistic level of teaching, specializing in programs of general, secondary and higher education in the field of choreography. The Baku Academy of Choreography has a century-long history: in 1922 a ballet studio was opened at the Ali Bayramov Central Club, a year later it was transformed into a choreographic school and later an academy.
