Contacts of admissions committees

Let’s speak English: Extracurricular activity in English in grades 5-6.

On the first day of spring we had an intellectual quiz Let’s speak English. We chose the game form of the event because the game is one of the effective ways of acquaintance of pupils with the culture of the country of the studied language. In a game a decision is always supposed: how to act, what to say and how to win.

Each competition was devoted to this or that theme, that promoted stronger learning of the program material, forming and fixing of skills of foreign language speech.

Work in teams promoted the formation of students such positive personal qualities, as goodwill, responsibility, a sense of mutual assistance. The success of one is the success of the whole team, and the success of the whole team is the success of one. Tasks did not take much time and allowed us to check all students at the same time who were put in equal conditions, i.e. worked at the same time with the same volume and complexity of the material. The feeling of equality and the atmosphere of enthusiasm allowed the students to overcome their shyness and constraint, and to remove the language barrier and fatigue.

Thanks to the game pupils expanded their knowledge of geography, culture and history of the countries they study.

Carrying out such events allows for a fairly high level of assimilation of realities, national specific information and serves as a stimulus for further information of a linguocountry study character.
