Meeting with a ballet-master-teacher, member of the Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine, teacher of classical dance, author of the book “History of Karaganda Ballet”

April 27, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography held a meeting with Polishchuk Galina Konstantinovna, ballet-master-teacher, member of the Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine, teacher of classical dance, author of the book “History of Karaganda Ballet”.

At the meeting the author told about her work on the book, shared her observations and research findings. The audience, among which there were many inhabitants of Karaganda, plunged into history of ballet which has arisen in 1940-60th years in Karaganda on breaks of tragical destinies of the repressed people who have gone through inconceivable cataclysms of personal and public life, but remained loyal to ephemeral art of ballet…

Galina Konstantinovna shared her research findings about the remarkable collective of music and drama theater, whose creative fate was comparatively short, but which played a great role in familiarizing the audience of Karaganda with theatrical art. In conclusion the researcher urged the students and the youth present in the audience to continue the research and thus to leave in the history of Kazakhstan culture the names of those who are today undeservedly forgotten…
