July 2-3 the “Astana Ballet” Theater will host the premiere of the ballet “Kozy Korpesh-Bayan Sulu” staged by the Honored Artist of Russia Georgy Kovtun to the music of Aktoty Raimkulova.
The epic poem “Kozy Korpesh-Bayan Sulu” is a legendary story about the love of a young man and a girl who are not destined to be together. For many centuries the Kazakh people have been passing on an incredible history from generation to generation. And now the lyric drama will come to life on the stage of the “Astana Ballet” Theater. “The central plot line of the ballet is the relationship of three characters: Kozy Korpesh – Bayan Sulu – Kodar. Themes of the good and the evil, love and hate, devotion and betrayal will always excite and attract attention. The struggle for freedom of choice, for love and an independence is fundamental in this production. Each hero of the performance has its own motive and plastic language. The tragic story of Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu is both a screem about the inescapable pain of loss and a hymn of eternal love,” said in the article on the theater’s website.
