Students from the academy performed at the Sophia Ballet Academy anniversary concert in Tokyo

Students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography took part in a concert dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Sophia Ballet Academy. The concert was held in Tokyo, Tamashin Risuru Hall.

Academy students performed ten numbers, including excerpts from classical ballet and two Kazakh dances. The concert consisted of four sections and 25 pieces.

Dance “Akku” to the music of N. Tlendiyev performed academy trainee Keina Nakajima, and “Balbobek” to the music of folk-ethnographic ensemble “Turan” – students of school-college Alina Zyrianova, Kamila Shakhmanova and Erkin Bazarbayev.

Kamila Shakhmanova and Erkin Bazarbayev also presented to the Japanese audience the adagio Rose and Sphinx from the Academy’s signature ballet, R. Drigo’s Romance of the Rosebud and the Moth.

In addition, students of the Academy performed the insert pas de deux from the ballet “Giselle” – Mika Arai and Akbar Iminov, pas de deux from the ballet “Flame of Paris” – Alina Zyrianova and Akbar Iminov, pas de sis from the ballet “Esmeralda” – Kamila Shakhmanova and Erkin Bazarbayev, prelude from the ballet “Chopeniana” – Keina Nakajima.

The final number of the anniversary concert was “Skaters” to music by J. Meyerbeer, which was performed by students of Sofia Ballet Academy, the soloist of the Moscow Academic Musical Theater Boris Zhurilov, as well as students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Alina Zyrianova, Kamila Shakhmanova, Erkin Bazarbayev and Akbar Iminov.
