Training “Relaxators. Techniques that reduce the effects of stress “

December 8, 2020 a teacher-psychologist of the department of educational work and social issues Maral Ibragim held a training on the topic: “Relaxators. Online Stress Mitigation Techniques” for College of Professional Education and University Students. Training was aimed at expanding the behavioral strategies and techniques of self-help in critical situations. Training objectives: study of the phenomenon of stress; increasing the level of stress resistance of students; development and consolidation of students’ self-control and self-regulation skills.

A modern person is constantly exposed to stressors (causes of stress). The strength of their impact is different for various people and depends on many factors: age and gender, level of susceptibility, character traits, time of day and season, etc. etc. Resistance to stress and stress management skills provide a person with the ability to carry out effective activities in a condition of stress.

For a modern person, mastery of stress management technologies is a prerequisite for his effective activity, and especially activity in areas new to him. So that stress does not become an insurmountable obstacle in achieving success, students need to form a high level of stress resistance, the ability to “take a punch”. The ability to deal with stress in a matter of minutes or even seconds is fundamental to emotional and physical health. The training was dedicated to learn those techniques.

During the training, students learned about what are the causes of stress, how our body reacts to stressful situations, as well as the physiological and emotional levels of reaction to stress, about first aid in an acute stressful situation and about anti-stress methods. The students also passed the stress test.

The training was attended by students of the College of Professional Education, faculties of choreography and arts. Students, together with a psychologist-teacher, performed self-massage of acupuncture points, which helps to quickly relax and relieve anxiety; the organizers also answered questions of the participants. At the end of the training, the trainees shared methods that help them cope with stressful situations.
