Digital art, as a new form of artistic expression, is becoming an increasingly significant element of the cultural environment in contemporary Kazakhstan. This topic is the focus of research by Balzhan Aibekovna Nurbosynova, a second-year doctoral student in the educational program 8D02107 "Art Studies."
On April 30, 2025, as part of a research seminar, Balzhan presented the key aspects of her dissertation. In her presentation, she emphasized the specific features of perceiving digital art, the transformation of visual language, and the evolving role of the artist in the digital media space of the 21st century. The seminar sparked particular interest in discussions about the shifting relationship between the artist and the audience in a digital context, as well as the theoretical and methodological approaches to studying digital visual culture.
The next stage of Balzhan Nurbosynova’s research will be an international academic internship from May 16 to June 17, 2025, at the Batumi University of Arts (Batumi, Georgia). The internship is expected to help expand the empirical foundation of her dissertation and foster international academic collaboration with experts in the field of digital and visual art.
