Every year on February 14, International Book Giving Day is observed worldwide. On this day, it is customary to gift books to children and inspire a love for reading. The initiative to establish this holiday belongs to Amy Broadmoor, a U.S. resident and founder of the website Delightful Children’s Books.
This wonderful and inspiring holiday is celebrated annually at the Academy of Choreography*.
This year, students of the Academy received a special visit from Aktoty Raimkulova, an Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, composer, and Director of the R. Baglanova "Qazaqconcert" organization. She personally congratulated the students and presented them with wonderful books.
-In our childhood, we were always taught that a book is the best gift, and indeed it was! Books were incredibly valuable to us. Sometimes, we would borrow a book for just one day and make sure to finish reading it in time to return it. Today, you have so many opportunities, with access to countless amazing books—cherish this, read, and explore the world through literature,” said Aktoty Raimkulova in her welcoming speech.
As part of the celebration, Academy staff gifted students and the school library a collection of over 80 new books for school reading, significantly expanding the library’s collection. In gratitude, elementary school students from the Academy’s school-college presented handmade greeting cards to the staff.
The *"Qazaqconcert" artists also joined the Academy’s celebration, entertaining the children with fun games and a mini-performance. Additionally, the Golden Sax group delighted the audience with a beautiful musical performance.
