On May 15, 2025, an international forum on "Folk Art Culture of the Russian–Islamic World" was held in Kazan as part of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - the Islamic World: KazanForum 2025", organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Kazan State Institute of Culture.
The main purpose of the forum is to strengthen socio-cultural and humanitarian ties between the regions of the Russian Federation and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, exchange experience in the development of folk art and traditional culture, as well as expand cultural partnership.
The forum was attended by Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan, as well as representatives of various countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, etc.
Among the participants from Kazakhstan was Dean of the Faculty of Choreography of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Aitolkyn Turginbayeva. In her speech, she spoke about the Academy's role in popularizing Kazakh folk dance, as well as the importance of integrating traditional art and the modern creative art industry into the educational system.
This forum has become an important platform not only for the development of international cultural cooperation, but also for strengthening spiritual ties between nations.
