Seminar on the Authorial Style of Cinematographers in Kazakh Cinema

On April 25, 2025, a research seminar was held by Gauhar Aspandiyarqyzy, a second-year doctoral student of the educational program 8D02107 "Art Studies." The topic of her presentation was "The Formation and Development of the Authorial Style of Cinematographers in Kazakh Cinema."

During the seminar, Gauhar presented the key findings of her dissertation, outlining the historical stages of the development of Kazakhstan's cinematographic school, the specific features of the visual language of local cinematographers, and various methods for analyzing authorial style in film.

Special attention was given to the theoretical and methodological approaches to studying cinematic language and visual style, as well as to the prospects for further research on the national tradition of cinematography.

Gauhar Aspandiyarqyzy also shared her experience of completing an international research internship at the University of Passau (Germany) under the supervision of Professor Birgit Beumers. She spoke about her work with German archives, participation in academic events, and the potential for future international collaboration in the field of film studies.

The seminar was held in a constructive academic atmosphere and sparked lively interest and discussion among participants.
