A scientific and practical seminar on “Scenography of Artistic Space in Kazakh Ballet Performances” was held at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, led by first-year doctoral student Saida Sattybayeva, who is pursuing a degree in “Art Studies”.
During the seminar, Sattybayeva presented an in-depth exploration of the historical evolution of scenography in ballet, the visual and emotional perception of stage space, and the interplay between scenographic elements, music, and choreography.
She emphasized that contemporary scenography goes beyond traditional stage design—it now functions as an independent artistic medium that enhances the overall impact of a performance. Sattybayeva also noted the absence of a strong academic foundation and literature on this topic in Kazakhstan, highlighting the importance and originality of her research.
The seminar brought together faculty members and doctoral students of the Academy. It served as a valuable platform for emerging scholars, opening new perspectives in the field of scenographic studies.
