On June 19, 2025, a press conference was held to mark the premiere of the ballet “The Sleeping Beauty”. Among the participants were the Artistic Director of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography and the Astana Opera Ballet Company, People’s Artist of Russia Altynai Asylmuratova, the leading soloists of the theatre performing the principal roles in the ballet are Madina Unerbayeva and Academy graduate Bakhtiyar Adamzhan, with set design by Riccardo Massironi and costume design by Anna Verdi."

In her speech, Altynai Asylmuratova emphasized that “The Sleeping Beauty” is one of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s most exquisite masterpieces, where music and choreography are beautifully intertwined. She also highlighted the special role of children in the ballet and expressed her gratitude to the parents of the young talents from the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography who took part in the production.

On June 20, 2025, students of the Academy performed in the premiere of the three-act ballet “Sleeping Beauty”, complete with Prologue and Epilogue, showcasing a high level of mastery.

Despite the summer holidays, our students attended daily rehearsals and worked diligently, which allowed them to present their performance skills with dignity on the grand stage.

The participation of Academy students in a world-class production is a significant event. Working alongside professional ballet artists provides invaluable experience for the students.

In this context, special recognition should be given to the dedicated teachers whose efforts ensured that the students were thoroughly prepared to perform at a high level.
