FOURTH-YEAR STUDENTS OF THE KAZAKH NATIONAL ACADEMY OF CHOREOGRAPHY SUCCESSFULLY PRESENTED THEIR GRADUATION PROJECTS

On June 2, 2025, fourth-year students from the Department of Ballet Master's Art at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography showcased their graduation projects on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theatre. The course was led by senior lecturer Mukaram Abubakhrieva - Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan and recipient of the State Scholarship of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy in the field of culture.

The State Attestation Commission included esteemed experts in the field of choreography:

  • Chair of the Commission - Elena Sherstneva, rehearsal coach of the ballet troupe at the Astana Opera Theatre, choreographer and ballet master, Knight of the Order “Dostyq”
  • Dean of the Faculty of Choreography - Aitolkyn Turginbayeva, Knight of the Order “Qurmet” and recipient of the honorary badge “Mädeniet qaýratkeri”
  • Head of the Department of Ballet Master's Art - Professor Gulnara Saitova, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the medals “Eren Eńbegi Úshin” and “Eńbek Dańqy”
  • Professor Izim Toigan - Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR, recipient of the medals “Halıq alǵysy” and “Eren Eńbegi Úshin”
  • Senior Lecturer Anvara Sadykova - Candidate of Art History and recipient of the state medal “Eren Eńbegi Úshin”

The graduation performances stood out for their artistic depth and emotional impact:

  • Shamshyrak Segizbayeva presented the ballet "Qargys" (The Curse) - a poignant story of love interrupted by a mystical curse, and a journey of redemption through trials. The performance vividly conveyed both the drama and the glimmer of hope for a happy ending.
  • Kamila Kausova performed "Podnebesye" (The Celestial Realm) - a choreographic interpretation of an ancient Chinese legend about four dragons who defied the emperor’s will save people from a devastating drought. The production captivated audiences with its refined choreography and philosophical undertones.
  • Malika Tumgoyeva introduced "Äyel" (Woman) - a thought-provoking piece on the role of women in society. Through the stories of several female characters, the ballet explored themes of choice, destiny, and inner strength.

Each performance resonated deeply with the audience, showcasing the students' ability to express profound meaning through the language of dance. The graduates demonstrated a high level of professionalism, integrating the knowledge and experience gained throughout their years of study. Their final projects served as a powerful testament to their artistic mastery and unwavering dedication to the art of choreography.
