6B02106 Art Management
Within the educational program 6B02106 Art Management, highly qualified bachelor of arts are trained, possess deep knowledge, understand the fundamentals of art theory and management methods in the cultural sphere, as well as possess professional competencies required by competitive specialists in the Kazakhstani labor market.
In addition to disciplines aimed at mastering the mandatory business and art management toolkit, students are offered to study the history of domestic and foreign ballet theater, explore the main styles and genres of choreographic art, acquire knowledge of the history and theory of world art, theater, and musical art.
Duration of study:

Preparation of highly qualified Bachelor of Arts graduates who possess deep knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of art theory and management methods in the cultural sphere, as well as professional competencies required by competitive specialists in the Kazakhstani labor market.
The Academy accepts applications from prospective students for the creative examination from june 20 to july 7 of the calendar year.
Creative Exam 1 – presentation of an art project
Creative Exam 2 – oral exam based on exam tickets
The proposed art project must be related to the art and culture of Kazakhstan, conceptually innovative, independently developed, and contain originality and realistic ideas. Requirements for the project presentation include a well-structured oral and written explanation, using art management tools (such as descriptions, budgets, tables, plans, etc.).
By July 6 of the calendar year, the applicant must submit a presentation of their creative project (art project) along with a written rationale of no more than three A4 pages, formatted as follows: portrait orientation, Times New Roman font, 14 pt font size, 1.0 line spacing, 1.0 cm paragraph indent, text justified, and 2.0 cm margins on all sides. The project and rationale should be sent electronically to the admissions committee’s email at the Academy (admissions-vpo@balletacademy.kz). Based on the preliminary review of the project and rationale by the committee members, the applicant receives approval to proceed with the creative exams.
The second creative exam is conducted orally, with a list of questions provided to the applicant in advance for preparation. During the exam, the applicant's general cultural awareness, motivation for socio-cultural activities, communication skills, aesthetic views, familiarity with contemporary art and culture, range of interests, foundational knowledge of cultural management, knowledge of the history of global and national art, the development of renowned theater companies, as well as the lives and works of notable composers and artists, are assessed. Additionally, the applicant's professional understanding of potential future career paths is evaluated.
Consultations may be conducted in a traditional and/or online format.
Consultations are organized to help applicants prepare for the creative exams. During these sessions, guidance is provided on the format for the art project and written rationale, and the procedure for taking the creative exams is explained (exam start and end times, announcement of results, and the appeals process). Attendance at these preparatory consultations is mandatory.
An appeal application is submitted to the chair of the appeals committee in person by the individual who took the special or creative exam. It must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. the day after the announcement of the exam results and is reviewed by the appeals committee within one day.
Admission of applicants to the Academy's student cohort, funded by the republican or local budget, is conducted by the Academy's admissions committee from August 10 to 25 of the calendar year. Enrollment for studies in Kazakh, Russian, or English is formalized by the Academy's rector or an authorized representative.
On the approval of the rules for assigning specialists to work, reimbursing expenses incurred from budgetary funds, granting the right to independent employment, exemption from the obligation, or termination of the obligation for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who studied under the state educational order. Order of the Acting Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 11, 2023, No. 403.
