Students and graduates of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography have worthily represented Kazakhstan at one of the brightest events of Southeast Asia - the Chingei Parade in Singapore. This colorful festival, first organized in 1973 on the initiative of Lee Kuan Yew, has long been a symbol of cultural diversity of the country, annually attracting thousands of participants from around the world.
This year's parade was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Singapore's independence and united a variety of creative groups. The Kazakhstani delegation presented the audience a bright choreographic number “Toybastar”. Artist of the Astana Opera Theater, choreographer and Academy graduate Sultanbek Gumar shared his impressions:
“We specially prepared for this parade. At the evening we demonstrated the work “Toybastar”. In this production we showed in a modern style Kazakh national games and spiritual wealth. We hope we were able to showcase the rich culture of the Kazakh people”
The performance of Kazakh artists became an important part of the festival, emphasizing the uniqueness of national traditions and a modern view of folk art.
