The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography hosted an International festival - competition of Young Choreographers dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

From April 7 to 10, 2025, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography hosted an International festival - competition of Young Choreographers, organized with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member States. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, an important historical and cultural date for our nations.

The festival was attended by young choreographers — students of higher and postgraduate education organizations from the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The main objectives of the festival-competition were the development of the spiritual and moral qualities of talented youth, support and disclosure of their creative potential, exchange of experience and knowledge.

The program of the festival was rich and varied. On April 8, master classes from famous masters of choreographic art were held as part of the grand opening. On April 9, the competition program continued on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theater, in which 29 participants performed in the second round. The closing ceremony and the Gala Concert of the laureates took place on April 10 on the same stage.

During the opening ceremony, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aibek Sydykov read out a congratulatory speech by the Minister Aida Galymovna Balayeva.:

“Today's competition is not just a creative competition, it has become an important event that allowed artists to express respect and gratitude for the feat of their ancestors through the art of dance.”

The winners of the festival were announced during the Gala Concert.

  • Anastasia Tretyakova (Kazan, Russia) received the prize of the Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Bibigul Nussipzhanova.
  • Prize of the Chief Choreographer of the Astana Ballet Theater Mukaram Abubakhrieva — Yusupov Abai (Astana, Kazakhstan).
  • The prize of the Chief Choreographer of the “Gulder” ensemble Anvara Sadykova is Elizaveta Trashkova (Tashkent, Uzbekistan).
  • The prize of the Assembly of Nations of Kazakhstan is David Companets (Astana, Kazakhstan).
  • The prize of the Astana Tourism Development Center is Irina Kapustina (Minsk, Belarus).

The festival-competition was held with the information support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Astana Tourism Development Center.

The organization of the festival in 2025 had an important impact on the popularization of choreographic art and the strengthening of cultural ties between the CIS countries.
