The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography held a national subject Olympiad among students of 3-4 years of specialty Choreography, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Abirov Dauren Tastanbekovich.

This year the participants of the Olympiad were teams from such Kazakhstani universities as Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov, Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University, Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay, International Kazakh-Turkish University named after K.A. Yasaui, Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. The leaders of our team "Academy stars" were teachers: D. O. Agzamova, senior lecturer of the department of pedagogy, master of choreographic art, and A. K. Kulbekova, Doctor of Pedagogical Science, professor of art history, professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, The first stage of Olympiads, students passed in the walls of their educational institutions, the final second stage was held in the Academy of Choreography. In the first round of the final stage participants were evaluated on such disciplines as theory and methodology of teaching classical dance, theory and methodology of teaching folk and stage dance, and in the second round students were able to demonstrate their knowledge of the multifaceted activities of D. T. Abirov, answering questions in a quiz.

The chairman of the competition committee was Elena Sherstneva, tutor teacher of the Astana Opera TRPB. According to the results of two rounds, the team of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography "Academy stars" took the first place of the Olympiad.

• Diploma of III degree was awarded to the team: "Dara" of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay, Almaty city.
• Diploma of II degree was awarded to the team: "Tomiris" of Kazakh National Women Pedagogical University named after Abai, Almaty city.
• Diploma of II degree was awarded to the team: "KazNAI ballet" of Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K. Zhurgenov, Almaty city.
• Diploma of I degree was awarded to the team: "Academy Stars" of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Astana city.
