Dear faculty members and staff, In accordance with Article 31 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Science and Technology Policy”, and in order to encourage scientists and researchers of scientific organizations and organizations of higher and (or) postgraduate education who have made a contribution to the development of science and technology, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter – the Ministry) announces a competition for the annual award “Best Scientific Worker”.

Applications for participation in the competition must be submitted through the Ministry’s information system https://scicontest2024.iac.kz in electronic format within 20 calendar days from the date of publication of the announcement.

The scientific achievements of applicants for the Award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. possession of an academic degree recognized in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
2. possession of an academic title awarded by the authorized body;
3. leadership of research projects and programs in the chosen scientific field;
4. availability and quality of scientific results in the chosen field (articles or reviews in peer-reviewed journals, domestic and international monographs, book chapters, patents, etc.);
5. publications in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals in co-authorship with leading foreign scientists;
6. teaching one or more disciplines at higher education institutions over the past year;
7. supervision of personnel awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent;
8. confirmed results of scientific and scientific-technical activities implemented in production;
9. public service aimed at improving the quality, effectiveness, and impact of scientific research.
