Ch.Ch. Valikhanov Institute of history and ethnology is one of the oldest scientific institutions in the Republic. This year is celebrated a double anniversary: 80th anniversary since its foundation, as well as the 190th anniversary of the birth of Ch.Ch. Valikhanov - the great scientist of the Kazakh people. The Institute traversed a great path and today it continues to make a huge contribution to the development of Kazakh science, conducting various research projects, implementing them within the framework of both targeted financing programs and grant projects of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

On September 5, 2025 at 11:00, the Ch. Valikhanov Institute of history and ethnology is holding an international scientific and practical conference on the topic «Everyday life of small and single-industry towns of Independent Kazakhstan: problems and perspectives» under the project GF AR23488712 «Everyday life of small and single-industry towns of Independent Kazakhstan (on the example of the Eastern region)» with the financial support of the Science Committee of Science of the Ministry Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
