From September 8 to 10, 2023 on the stage of the Kazakh Drama Theater named after Makhambet Utemisov, Atyrau held the III Republican Competition of Dances of the Peoples of the World People's Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzhan Talpakova.

The contest, which bears the name of the legendary Kazakh dancer, choreographer, teacher introduced the audience to the modern repertoire and trends in the development of national dances of the peoples of the world, allowed to identify the brightest performers.

As a guest of honor was invited professor, honored figure of Kazakhstan, rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Nusipzhanova Bibigul Nurgalievna.

According to the results of the contest:

• Main prize - Gaziza Moldakhmet (Astana), Kazakh National Academy of Choreography;
• First place - Aisulu Muratkalieva (Astana city);
• Second place - Inkar Aidarkhankyzy (Astana), Kazakh National Academy of Choreography;
• III place - Zerde Tannurkyzy (Almaty city) and Asem Askhatova (Mangistau region);
• G. Murat Karakoz (Atyrau city) was awarded with Talpakova's "Special Prize".
• In the nomination "Best Ballet Work " won Almat Shamshiev and Aigul Kulbekova.
• Asel Lukpanova (costume designer Inkar Aidarkhanqizi) won in the nomination "Yuzdik costume ". Also within the framework of this Competition there was a presentation of a book-photo album dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Gulzhan Talpakova.

The author-compiler of the book - Anvara Sadykova, designer, photo restorer - Alexey Nekrasov, chief editor - Zhanna Tolysbaeva.

The book is published in Kazakh and Russian languages, consists of unique archive photos reflecting the versatility of life and creativity of Gulzhan Talpakova.

The program of the competition was supplemented by master classes by T.O. Izim, A.K. Kulbekova, A. Sadykova, A. Shamshiev and other famous teachers and scientists.
