As part of an international research internship that began on April 19 at the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS, Dana Kuanyshbekova, a doctoral student of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, held research consultations with leading specialists in the field of choreographic art and also carried out research work at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

During this period, special attention was given to work in the library and archives of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. Archival video materials, historical and social dance curricula, and methodological materials of scientific and practical value for the dissertation research were collected.

Meetings and professional discussions were also held with leading teachers of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography in the discipline “Historical and Social Dance” — Head of the Department, Professor, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Inga Voronina and Honored Cultural Worker of the Russian Federation Maria Severtseva.

An important part of the internship was a meeting with the foreign academic supervisor — Honored Artist of the Republic of Buryatia, Professor, Candidate of Art Studies, and Artistic Director of the GITIS course Maxim Valukin.

During the consultation, the structure and concept of the dissertation research, issues of methodology and scientific framework, the content of a scientific article and conference presentation, as well as prospects for the further development of research in the field of choreographic education and preservation of classical heritage were discussed.

The invaluable experience of communication with representatives of the outstanding national school of historical and social dance contributes to strengthening professional and academic ties, as well as to the development of research activities in the field of choreographic education.
