Academy has participated at XII Presidential ball of Maqsut Narikbayev University

The 12th Presidential Ball of Maqsut Narikbayev University took place in the capital, bringing together around 500 participants. The ceremonial evening was held on the stage of the Kazakh National Musical and Drama Theatre named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev and became one of the most vibrant cultural events in the university’s life.

For the fourth consecutive year, the ball’s choreographer and director was Evgeny Sergeyevich Moiseyev, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Choreography and Senior Lecturer at the Academy. Each year, he involves Academy students as assistants, passing on practical experience to future professionals. This year, the choreographer’s assistant was fourth-year student David Kompanets from the educational program “Pedagogy of Sports Ballroom Dance.”

The evening’s honored guests included the Academy’s leadership and staff. Participants were evaluated by a distinguished jury, which included faculty members of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography: Anvara Aripovna Sadykova, Dana Maratovna Kuanyshbayeva, and Elvira Zhumabekovna Imambekova.

The Presidential Ball is traditionally dedicated to the birthday of Honorary Rector Maksut Sultanovich Narikbayev and holds a special place in the university’s history and traditions, bringing together generations of students, alumni, and guests.

The evening’s program featured a classical polonaise, a Kazakh waltz, the “Dolls” waltz, and debutante performances, with participants sharing this meaningful moment with their parents and invited guests. This year, 132 debutantes took to the dance floor.

The MNU Presidential Ball rightfully remains one of the university’s key traditions, preserving continuity between generations, fostering a rich cultural environment, and inspiring young people to grow through the art of dance. Such collaboration strengthens ties between institutions and opens new opportunities for students’ creative development.
