On August 5 and 6, in the USA, California, on the stage of the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, the performance ” Coppélia Suite” took place.
The performance was supported by the Petipa Heritage Foundation and featured by the Bayer Ballet Company and students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
Coppélia is considered one of the greatest comic ballets of the 19th Century and remains one of the most cherished classical works in classical ballet repertory. Originally choreographed by Arthur St. Léon in 1870, restaged by Petipa in 1884, and revised by Cecchetti in 1894.
The performance was the culmination of a 6-week Summer Intensive Course that took place from June 26 to August 6 at the Bayer Ballet, where Academy students took part under the guidance of Anton Lukovkin, teacher of the Academy’s School-College of Professional Education.
