Brass Quintet Concert Held to Mark the Academy’s Anniversary

On March 17, 2026, a brass quintet concert took place at the educational theater of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, dedicated to the Academy’s 10th anniversary.

The event was organized as part of the course “Project Management in the Arts” by first-year master’s student of the Art Studies program, Aqylzhan Irgebay. The concert brought together works of classical, jazz, and contemporary music.

The program featured compositions by renowned composers from different eras and genres. Among them were “Rondeau” by Jean-Joseph Mouret, the jazz piece “In a Sentimental Mood” by Duke Ellington, and the folk composition “Aq Sisa” by Zhayau Musa. The audience also enjoyed modern and popular melodies, including “Tango for Jam Jam” by Zack Smith and the famous song “How Deep Is Your Love” by Bee Gees.

In addition, classical pieces such as “Puttin’ on the Ritz” by Irving Berlin and “Hello, Dolly!” by Jerry Herman were performed.

The concert was hosted by Rasul Nurtazin. The stage featured young musicians: Aqylzhan Irgebay (trumpet), Timur Temirbekov (tuba), Azat Abilkasymov (trumpet), Madiyar Karimov (French horn), and Ayan Sarbasov (trombone).

The concert showcased a wide variety of musical styles and introduced the audience to the works of outstanding composers. Organizers noted that the event aimed to promote both academic and contemporary music, as well as to support the development of students’ creative initiatives in the field of arts.
