Chess in Education in the Context of Digitalization

The Kazakhstan Chess Federation (hereinafter referred to as the Federation) invites you to the International Conference "Chess in Education in the Context of Digitalization" as part of the annual republican August Conference, aimed at popularizing chess within the education system. One of the Federation’s key areas of focus is the introduction of chess into schools and its promotion among the young citizens of our country. Within this framework, a series of systemic measures are being implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, including the "Comprehensive Chess Development Plan for 2023-2027."

As part of the first area of the Plan, "Chess Development in Education," by 2027, phased implementation of chess in grades 1-4 of general education schools will be carried out using the variable component of the curriculum in 1400 schools (with at least 350 schools joining annually), as well as the training of no fewer than 250 chess teachers.

Conference speakers include: Jerry Nash, Chairman of the FIDE "Chess in Education" Commission (USA), Leontxo Garcia, Senior Advisor of the FIDE "Chess in Education" Commission (Spain), Rita Atkins, Secretary of the FIDE "Chess in Education" Commission (Hungary), and others. Experts will share their experiences of implementing chess in schools, discuss research findings, and conduct workshops for participants.
