Dedication to the Profession: A New Path on a Great Journey

Today, two significant events took place at the training theatre of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography — the celebration of Teacher’s Day and the dedication ceremony for 5th-grade students entering the profession of ballet artistry.

The Artistic Director of the Academy, Altynai Asylmuratova, delivered a welcoming speech: “Good afternoon, dear friends. Today is a wonderful day — we are celebrating two important occasions: Teacher’s Day and the dedication of new artists.

Dear ‘first-graders’ of our profession! I wish you good health. Our profession requires health, patience, and hard work. Of course, it is very important to sincerely love the work you choose — our magnificent, beautiful, and noble art, the art of ballet. Love it with all your soul and heart. Yes, it requires a lot of dedication. Yes, not everything will come easily at first. BUT! First of all, you will cultivate your spirit, you will become strong and outstanding individuals. Do not fear difficulties. The main thing is not to be lazy because time flies very quickly. I look at this photo (children are shown on the screen), we recently congratulated them on their first performance, and now they delight us on stage. Before you know it, you will graduate and begin your adult life. Work hard, do your best, and listen to your teachers. I wish you good luck, but remember that luck does not simply fall from the sky — you need to make an effort. Be positive and bring joy to people.

In turn, I want to thank and congratulate the teachers. Because being a teacher is a very responsible and important profession. I would even say it’s not just a profession but a calling. Especially in our field, because your instructors, mentors, and educators spend whole days with you. They not only provide you with professional knowledge but also help form you as cultured individuals. I want to thank the entire teaching staff, everyone involved in nurturing our beloved children. I wish you health, prosperity, patience, and inspiration. May everything go well in your lives. Grateful students and my deepest respect to you.”

The Academy students, taking their first steps on the professional path to becoming artists, recited an oath — a tradition of this event. The young artists also received commemorative gifts and words of encouragement from Altynai Abduakhimovna.
