Doctoral Students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Presented Their Research Findings at an International Conference in Tashkent

On October 23, 2025, the Hilton Tashkent City hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “The Decorative and Applied Arts of the Turkic World: Past, Present, and Future”, organized by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design, and the international scientific journal “Science and Innovation.”

The opening ceremony featured welcoming remarks by Feruza Abidjanova, Chief Scientific Secretary of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan; Omonulla Salikhov, Rector of the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design; and Jeyran Emin kyzy Makhmudova, Rector of the Azerbaijan State University of Arts and Culture. They wished the participants success in their academic and creative endeavors.

The conference was moderated by academician, Doctor of Art Studies, Professor Kamola Akilova. The event brought together leading scholars and researchers from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan, including Prof. Nursen Ozkul Findik, Prof. Seukhan Yilmaz, Dr. Demet Ornek, Assoc. Prof. Sennur Kaya, PhD Rumeisa Ragsan Hasanzade, PhD Nardana Yusifova, as well as representatives from the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography — PhD Serik Kyrkanovich Zhunusov and doctoral student Saida Dulatovna Sattibayeva.

As part of their academic internship in Tashkent, the doctoral students presented and tested the results of their ongoing research before the international academic community:

  • Serik Zhunusov — “Kazakh Ornament as a Reflection of the National Code”;
  • Saida Sattibayeva — “Creating Dance Scenography through National Attributes in Artistic Solutions.”

Participation in the conference formed an essential part of the doctoral internship program, aimed at strengthening research competencies, expanding international collaboration, and promoting the approbation of artistic research in the global academic space.
