Immersion in contemporary dance: master class by Alexander Frolov at the Academy

On January 28, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography hosted a master class on contemporary dance from Alexander Frolov, a ballet dancer and graduate of the modern dance department of the Humanitarian University in Yekaterinburg.

Alexander Frolov is a scholarship recipient of the American Dance Festival, a finalist of the “Dance Interpretation” project, a laureate of the Sverdlovsk Regional Theater Festival “Bravo!”, and was also nominated three times for the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” in the categories of modern dance, best performance, best choreographer and best male role. His original productions “My Love/My Life”, “Essence” and “Premiere” were highly praised in the professional community.

As part of the master class, a practical lesson took place, during which students became acquainted with Alexander’s original technique, worked out the key principles of movement in contemporary dance and analyzed the nuances of performance. The artist also shared his experience and gave valuable recommendations. The lesson was attended by students of the educational programs “Pedagogy of Choreographic Art”, “Pedagogy of Sports Ballroom Dance” and “Choreographer’s Art”.
