An International Competition for Young Choreographers to Be Held in Astana

From April 20 to 22, 2026, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography will host the International Competition for Young Choreographers, dedicated to International Dance Day.

The competition will bring together young choreographers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. The event will serve as a professional platform for presenting original works, exchanging experience, and fostering international cooperation in the field of choreographic art.

The aim of the competition is to support the creative potential of young artists, strengthen international cultural ties, and promote choreographic art.

The program will include competition performances, master classes led by leading experts, as well as the forum “Digital Transformation of Art Universities: Challenges and Prospects.”

The competition will conclude with a gala concert of the laureates, where audiences will have the opportunity to see the best performances.

The Academy continues its systematic work in supporting young choreographers by implementing projects aimed at the development and continuity of the national choreographic school.

Holding the competition on the eve of International Dance Day highlights the significance of choreography as a universal language of art that unites cultures and generations.
