On January 16 at 11:00 at the Museum and Memorial Complex of Victims of Political Repression and Totalitarianism “ALZHIR” a presentation of the music and choreographic video “ALZHIR” took place. The project was implemented thanks to the cooperation of the museum and memorial complex and the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. The video “ALZHIR” is dedicated to women who went through the most difficult trials in the Akmola camp for the wives of traitors to the Motherland. Their “guilt” was only that they were the wives of arrested and executed “enemies of the people.”
The work is based on the musical composition “Tolgau” by Aktota Raimkulova, performed and arranged by the “Turan” folk ensemble represented by Serik Nurmoldaev, Academy teacher Bauyrzhan Bekmukhanbetov, Maksat Medeubek, Erzhigit Aliyev and Zhantu Dadabaev.
The author of the idea of filming at the ALZHIR Museum is Professor Alila Alisheva, the project was carried out by senior teacher of the Academy Anvara Sadykova, cameraman and editing director - Alexey Nekrasov, the narrator is Inkar Aidarkhankyzy, master's student of the Academy of Choreography.
The presentation was attended by the head of the Directorate of United Museums of the Akimat of Astana Sergey Solodovnikov, deputy director of the ALZHIR Museum and Memorial Complex Samat Tergembaev, head of the tour and exhibition department Raisa Zhaksybaeva, museum staff, undergraduate students and teachers of the choreography department, musicians of the Turan ensemble, artists and leaders of the Gulder ensemble, as well as descendants of women who served time in the camp, represented by Zhanat Muratovna - the granddaughter of the famous Balkhash doctor Magrifa Kazbekova. Participants shared reviews of the video, memories of their loved ones, and stories about the significance of the museum’s activities.
After the presentation, students were given a tour of the museum, a documentary film shown and a discussion of historical facts, which allowed them to immerse themselves deeper into the atmosphere and understand the significance of the events of that time. The project left an indelible impression, becoming a significant step in preserving the memory of the tragic pages of the history of Kazakhstan.
