Kazakh National Academy of Choreography is a participant of the prestigious International Festival of the Turkic World in Ankara

From April 28 to May 2, 2025, the “Ankara” International Festival of State Ballet and Choreographic Educational Institutions of the Turkic World was held in Ankara (Turkey). The event was organized by the TURKSOY International Organization of Turkic Culture in cooperation with Hacettepe University.

The festival has become an important platform for strengthening cultural ties and exchanging experiences between the countries of the Turkic world. The event included the Second Meeting of the Heads of Leading Choreographic Educational Institutions in Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, master classes for students and participants of the festival and a Gala concert.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY, Mr. Sayit Yusuf, and the Vice-Rector of Hacettepe University, Professor Sibel Aksu Yildirim. The meeting was attended by the Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Bibigul Nussipzhanova, who made a number of proposals aimed at developing professional choreographic education, strengthening cultural ties and integrating joint creative initiatives within a single Turkic cultural space.

During the meeting, the participants discussed key areas of activity of specialized educational institutions, including the training of specialists in the field of classical ballet, folk stage and modern dance.

Following the meeting, it was decided to launch a program for academic mobility of teachers and students in the 2026-2027 academic year, as well as to sign mutual memorandum of cooperation and understanding and develop a common educational program that promotes the convergence of national systems of professional choreographic education in the Turkic countries.

The highlight of the festival was a Gala concert held at the Concert hall of the Ankara State Conservatory at Hacettepe University. Students of the leading ballet schools of the Turkic world performed on the stage.

On behalf of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Syrmanov Abilmansur, a 6th/9th grade student, performed at the Gala concert with a brilliant interpretation of the variation from Act II of the ballet by A. Adan "Giselle" choreographed by J. Perrot, M. Petipa (teacher A.A. Murzakulov).

Cultural diversity, the grace of classical dance and the distinctive energy of folk and classical choreography combined in a rich program, giving the audience aesthetic pleasure and a vivid sense of the spiritual unity of the Turkic peoples.

The international festival has become a symbol of the dialogue of cultures and the continuation of traditions, opening new horizons for the development of choreographic education and creative interaction.
