On February 26, 2025, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography hosted the traditional IV Republican seminar for teachers of higher educational institutions on the topic “Theory and methods of teaching Kazakh dance”.

The main purpose of the seminar is to create conditions for the exchange of experience between teachers who teach the course “Theory and methods of teaching Kazakh dance” in higher educational institutions of the country.

The tradition of teaching Kazakh dance has been formed in several major educational institutions of our country. In particular, the choreographic direction has been taught at the Makhambet Utemisov University since 1991, and at the Korkyt Ata University in Kyzylorda since 1993. Graduates of these educational institutions are currently working all over Kazakhstan. Therefore, qualified teachers from the above-mentioned universities were invited to participate in the seminar.

During the seminar, teachers of the educational program “Traditional Musical art and Choreography” of the University named after Korkyt Ata - Zhibek Bayuzakkyzy Yuldasheva, teachers of the program “Choreography” of the University named after Makhambet Utemisov - Tolkyn Magzumkyzy Amreeva and Aray Bolatkyzy Kalzhanova shared their experiences. The participants were shown lessons at the barre and in the dance hall, which were thoroughly discussed.

In addition, the seminar was attended by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A.K. Kulbekova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences B.S. Tleubayeva and PhD A.T. Moldakhmetova, who shared their thoughts and discussed topical issues.

During the seminar, topical issues of teaching Kazakh dance, methodological approaches and new pedagogical technologies were discussed, and also, a professional discussion was organized.
