On March 22, the day of Nauryz holiday, an ancient symbol of spring renewal, unity and harmony, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography performed a tour concert on the stage of the Boris Eifman Dance Academy Theater in St. Petersburg. The Artistic director of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography is the People's Artist of Russia, Prima Ballerina of the Kirov - Mariinsky Theater, the Royal Ballet of the United Kingdom and the Ballet National de Marseille, one of the most outstanding ballerinas of her generation-Altynai Asylmuratova, the guests of the evening saw a multifaceted program in which classical, modern choreography and Kazakh folk dances organically intertwined. The evening's program included suite from the ballet "The Romance of the Rosebud and the Moth" to the music of Ricardo Drigo, staged by Vasily Medvedev. This is the last ballet by the great Marius Petipa, which was staged more than 120 years ago, but was never shown during his lifetime. Many years later, Vasily Medvedev and the Academy of Choreography managed to recreate this unique ballet. The second section presented a variety of performances to the audience, including: from the ballet "The Little Humpbacked Horse" by Arthur Saint-Leon; "Dreams of Love" by Bulat Ayukhanov to the music of Franz Liszt; The national dances "Akbayan" and "Zholbarys zhurek" are folk music in a modern arrangement by the folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Hassak" staged by the leading masters of the national choreography of Kazakhstan – Anvara Sadykova and Almat Shamshiev.
The Academy truly captivated the audience: each performance was met with loud applause, and the viewers called the artists back for encores. The students demonstrated not only a high level of technique but also deep artistry, maturity, and genuine dedication. Their performance evoked a strong emotional response from the guests of the evening.
The President of the Boris Eifman Dance Academy, an iconic figure in the choreographic world, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Boris Eifman, personally attended the general run.
"We are very glad that you have come and shown that the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography is at a high level. Your teachers are real masters. I am very happy for the Academy and the Kazakh ballet," - Boris Yakovlevich said.
This performance was not only a vivid continuation of the creative cooperation between the two academies, but also a convincing confirmation that the younger generation of Kazakhstan artists honorably represents the country on the international stage.
