The Library as a Place Where Students Find Inspiration

At the Academy, education is not provided solely by teachers of choreography, art studies, or other disciplines. The upbringing of достойных citizens takes place everywhere — in every corner of the Academy.

The library occupies a special place in this process, as books are a source of knowledge.

One of the key areas of the library’s work is cultural and educational activities. The READx project is held on a regular basis, bringing together library readers — students and faculty of the Academy. Within the framework of the national campaign “A Reading Nation – A Reading Academy”, events promoting reading are organized. The library also hosts book readings featuring holders of the “Y. Altynsarin” badge. In addition, the library organizes large-scale events such as BiblioNight, BiblioTwilight, International Book Giving Day, Dot Day, various challenges, and other activities.

The library also runs the Bookcrossing initiative under the slogan “Read a book — pass it on to another.” The most popular projects include:

  • the student book club “Book Time”;
  • the annual celebration of International Dot Day, held on September 15 at the Academy library;
  • “Reading as a Family” — a family reading project;
  • the intellectual game for students “Find the Book”;
  • Story Time — interactive fairy-tale reading;
  • an event on creating 3D books among students — DIY 3D Books;
  • a book donation campaign held on February 14, International Book Giving Day.
