On May 19, 2026, a Science Café event titled “Principles of Forming the Repertoire of the ‘Gulder’ Ensemble” was held at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.

The speaker of the event was Anvara Sadykova, chief ballet master of the “Gulder” ensemble.

During the meeting, Anvara Aripovna spoke about the history of the ensemble’s formation, the concept of its rebranding, and its further development. For the participants, it was especially important to revisit the history of the “Gulder” ensemble and reflect on its role in the development of Kazakhstan’s culture in the 1960s–1980s. Through video materials and archival photographs, the audience learned much new information about the continuity between the renewed “Gulder” ensemble and its historical predecessor. At the same time, visitors of the Science Café evaluated the work of the young ensemble by comparing its achievements with the масштаб and legacy of the 20th-century “Gulder”.

Today, “Gulder” is an original creative ensemble that continues to shape its unique repertoire and unite talented individuals in artistic projects. Undoubtedly, the main condition for the ensemble’s development is the desire and ability of each participant to improve professionally. The ensemble’s artists have a unique opportunity not only to perform choreographic works but also to try themselves in the roles of choreographer, librettist, and rehearsal coach.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the preservation of cultural heritage, the search for new stage solutions, and the significance of the “Gulder” ensemble in the development of national art.

The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere of discussion and exchange of experience, becoming a platform for professional communication. At the end of the meeting, Anvara Sadykova presented the choreographic video project “ALZHIR,” filmed two years ago on the territory of the Akmola Camp for Wives of Traitors to the Motherland. The audience highly appreciated the project as a vivid artistic experiment integrating the possibilities of artificial intelligence, museum exhibition space, traditional music (the kuy “Tolgau”), expressive performance by Inkar Aidarkhankyzy, and the talent of the ballet master.
