A meeting with Elena Sherstneva, a teacher and rehearsal coach of the ballet company of the Astana Opera Theatre and a recipient of the Order of Dostyk, was held at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
The Head of the School-College of Vocational Education, Svetlana Kokshinova, along with teachers of specialized disciplines, expressed their gratitude to Elena Anatolyevna for her many years of fruitful work and for sharing her invaluable experience with the Academy’s teachers and students.
Specifically for the Academy, Elena Sherstneva staged outstanding examples of character dance: Polovtsian Dances by A. Borodin; a divertissement from P. Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker; the Krakowiak from M. Glinka’s opera A Life for the Tsar; a suite from A. Khachaturian’s ballet Gayane; the Hindu Dance from L. Minkus’s ballet La Bayadère; and an original choreography of the Italian dance Tarantella set to music by F. Auber.
In turn, Elena Anatolyevna presented the Academy with commemorative paintings and books as a gift.
