A memorial evening dedicated to Kazakh and Soviet composer Ablakhat Yespaev was held at the Creative Laboratory of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
In November 2025, the composer would have turned 100 years old. First-year students of the Faculty of Arts organized the event in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, reminiscing about Ablakhat Yespaev’s works. The students shared details from the life of the author of many beloved songs, some of which were performed with dombra accompaniment.
“Zhelsiz túnde zharyq ai,” “Ustazym menin, ustazym”… Special attention was given to Yespaev’s most famous compositions. In addition, the organizers prepared a short video segment that featured interviews with students and staff of the Academy about their knowledge of the composer’s life and work.
Today, applause echoed in honor of the composer — the best proof that a person lives on through the music they create, even a hundred years later.
