“Nauryznama” Decade Kicks Off at the Academy

From March 14 to 23, the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography will host a grand celebration of Nauryz in the format of “10 Days of Nauryznama.” Each day is dedicated to a specific theme highlighting the key spiritual and cultural values of the Kazakh people.

Here is a sample schedule of events:

March 14 – Kórisu Kuni (Day of Greetings and Well-Wishes): Staff, students, and academy pupils will come dressed in national attire and exchange traditional greetings. A theatrical performance titled “Kórisu Kuni – Amal Merekesi” featuring students from the Faculty of Arts and Choreography will take place, and themed class sessions will be held for school-college students.

March 15 – Qaiyrymdylyk (Day of Charity): The academy will organize the “Start the Year with Kindness!” initiative, including a charitable collection of clothing, specialized baby food, and hygiene products. A festive concert will be held for patients at the Oncology Department of the National Scientific Center for Maternal and Child Health and the Cardiac Surgery Clinic “Heart Center” of the University Medical Center Corporate Fund.

March 16 – Day of Culture and National Traditions: Ninth-grade students of the school-college will attend a class session titled “Últtyq dәstür – bizdiń ruhanı baılyǵymyz” focused on the importance of national heritage.

March 17 – Day of Family – Shańyraq: This event promotes respect for family values, traditions, and generational continuity. Students will participate in a class session “Qara shańyraǵym – altyn besigim”.

March 18 – Day of National Clothing – Últtyq kiim: Class sessions for fifth-grade students will introduce the national costume and cultural traditions.

March 19 – Day of Renewal – Jañaru: Seventh- and eighth-grade students will attend classes titled “Dostyq, birlik jáne Nauryz”, dedicated to friendship, unity, and spiritual renewal.

March 20 – Day of National Sports – Últtyq sport: A sports relay called “National Sports Games” will be held for students and staff, featuring traditional games such as arqan tartý, toǵyz qumalaq, and asyq atu.

March 21 – Day of Unity and Solidarity – Yntymaq: The day will include themed class sessions emphasizing interethnic harmony and the strengthening of friendship among the peoples of Kazakhstan.

March 22 – Jyl basy (New Year by the Eastern Calendar): The central event will be a festive celebration “Qoş keldiń, Áz Nauryz!”.

March 23 – Day of Purification – Tazaru: Boarding school pupils will participate in a plant-planting activity symbolizing renewal and care for the environment.

The Nauryznama celebration at the Academy of Choreography aims to preserve national traditions, strengthen cultural values, and educate youth in the spirit of respect for Kazakhstan’s history and heritage.
