From November 20 to 22, the capital of Kazakhstan will host the IV "Temps lié" International Festival of Choreographic Educational Institutions - a celebration of grace, supreme artistry, and the continuity of generations, organized by the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography.
The festival will serve as a platform for dialogue between the world’s leading ballet schools, renowned educators, and emerging talents. Over the course of three days, audiences will be immersed in both the rich history and contemporary vision of ballet art.
November 20 – Grand Opening: The Ballet the Romance of the Rosebud and the Butterfly
On the opening day, the audience will be presented with a true gem of classical heritage – a ballet set to the music of Riccardo Drigo, originally conceived by the legendary Marius Petipa in 1904. A century later, this masterpiece was exclusively restaged by ballet master Vasily Medvedev specifically for the students of the Academy. The fairytale atmosphere will come alive through set designs by Zhandos Omarov and costumes by Natalya Protasova, created from unique sketches by Ivan Vsevolozhsky from the collections of the St. Petersburg State Museum of Theatre and Music.
November 21 – Participants' Gala Concert: "A World Constellation of Choreographic Schools"
The second day will bring together students from seven leading ballet schools –representing Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Hungary, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan – on the stage of Astana Ballet. Immortal classical traditions, modern choreographic imagery, and vibrant national motifs will come to life through the performances of these young dancers.
November 22 – Grand Closing: "Constellation of Academy Graduates"
The festival will culminate in a spectacular Gala Concert featuring Academy graduates from various years. Today, they are celebrated masters performing on the prestigious stages of Kazakhstan and around the globe. This anniversary concert stands as a testament to the Academy’s ten-year journey and the enduring value of the national ballet school.
We warmly invite residents and guests of the capital to indulge in an evening of genuine inspiration and touch the magic of high art!
