Presentation of the music and choreographic video “ALZHIR”: memory revived in art

On January 16, 2025, at the Museum and Memorial Complex of Victims of Political Repression and Totalitarianism “ALZHIR” there will be a presentation of the musical and choreographic video clip “ALZHIR”, dedicated to the memory of women who went through difficult trials in the Akmola camp for the wives of traitors to the Motherland, whose guilt was that they were the wives of arrested and executed “enemies of the people.” Pain and hope are two principles that run parallel through the narrative of the story based on the musical work “Tolgau” by Aktota Raimkulova, performed and arranged by the famous folk ensemble “Turan”.

The idea of creating the video belongs to the teacher-choreographer of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography prof. Alila Alisheva, the project was carried out by Anvara Sadykova, a choreographer and senior teacher of the Academy cameraman, Alexey Nekrasov, an editing director and Inkar Aidarkhankyzy, a master's degree student of the Academy.
