On April 23, 2026, an international round table titled “Uniting Cultural Traditions and Contemporary Creative Practices: Cultural Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia” was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event brought together representatives of the creative and academic communities from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
The round table was moderated by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balaeva and Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrey Malyshev. During the meeting, participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of museum studies, cinematography, education, and performing arts.
Among the participants was the Rector of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, Bibigul Nusipzhanova, who spoke in the section dedicated to cooperation in cultural education. In her address, she emphasized the importance of strengthening international ties, exchanging experience, and developing joint educational projects between specialized institutions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
The event also gathered heads of leading cultural institutions from both countries, including representatives of the museum community, film industry, and theater sector. Particular attention was given to the integration of traditional cultural values with contemporary creative practices.
The round table concluded with a summary of discussions and the identification of further directions for cultural cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia.
