Representatives of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography participated in a seminar on the development of higher and postgraduate education

A seminar was held at APEMS as part of the Technical Assistance Mission on the topic “Mission and Values of Higher Education.” The event was attended by Academy staff, led by Vice-Rector Aigul Maratovna Esentemirova.

The seminar was organized by the National Team of Experts on Higher Education Reform (HERE), the Erasmus+ National Office in Kazakhstan, and the Committee on Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The keynote speaker was invited expert of the European Higher Education Area, Dr. Shur Bergan — former Head of the Education Department at the Council of Europe. He played a key role in Kazakhstan’s accession to the Bologna Process in 2010, when the country became the first in Central Asia to join the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

During the seminar, the following key topics were discussed:

  • The historical evolution of the higher education system;
  • The mission and current objectives of universities in modern society;
  • Human resources policy and professional standards for teaching staff;
  • Practical application of the sectoral qualifications framework.

At the end of the seminar, participants completed a practical task under the guidance of the moderator, took part in a Q&A session, and summarized the event.
