On April 21, the second round of the competition took place on the stage of the Astana Ballet theatre. A total of 25 performances were presented, showcasing a wide range of artistic images and musical interpretations. The richness of emotional expression in these performances allowed the audience to experience every note and movement together with the contestants.
Russia was represented by the Moscow State Academy of Choreography with the pieces “Pastries,” “Two Gypsy Women,” and “Lost Illusions,” as well as by the Ufa State Institute of Arts named after Zagir Ismagilov with the choreographic composition “Dance of the Girls – Warriors of the Bird Clan.”
Participants from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts presented “Memory of the Past,” “Courage Does Not Burn,” “To Breathe,” and “The Unknown.” The Kyrgyz Republic showcased “Louder Inside,” “My Love, My Dream,” “In Search,” and “BAD KARMA.” Uzbekistan presented “Trap of the Mind,” while Azerbaijan performed “Dance of the Mystery of the Tower.”
Kazakhstan presented the largest number of works. Among them were “Line of Being,” “Monologue,” “Oblivion,” “Homo sapiens,” and “Kiss,” performed by students of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts. Debut participants from Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University presented “Doomed Love.”
Additionally, “Cry Without Sound,” “Female,” “Be Close to Me,” “Step of Asura,” and “Trias” were performed by students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, the organizer of the competition. It was evident that the young choreographers invested not only knowledge and professional skills into their works, but also a sincere desire to tell their own stories—capable of deeply moving and inspiring the audience.
In addition to the competition program, guests were invited to enjoy an evening прогулка through the capital.
