At the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, a solemn ceremony was held to honor Ludmila Makartseva, a teacher of special disciplines and a Knight of the Order of “Kurmet.”
Today, October 17, Ludmila Viktorovna celebrates her 70th birthday. Congratulations were offered by Rector Bibigul Nusyipzhanova, colleagues, and students, along with video messages.
Ludmila Viktorovna is not only a teacher and ballet artist but also a mentor who has inspired generations of students. She teaches not just how to dance but how to feel the music and the stage, and to understand oneself.
Her professional life is closely connected with ballet art. After receiving specialized education and completing several courses, Ludmila Makartseva began her career as a ballet artist at the Dnepropetrovsk Opera and Ballet Theater, then became a soloist at the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
Her repertoire includes roles in classical productions: Maria (“The Fountain of Bakhchisarai”); Mistress of the Dryads, friends (“Don Quixote”); Marya-Beauty (“The Firebird”); Popovna (“Russian Fairy Tale”); friends, the pair of willis in Act II (“Giselle”); pas-de-trois, little swans (“Swan Lake”), as well as other parts from the golden fund of ballet art.
Besides the classical repertoire, Makartseva performed folk and stage dances in ballet and opera productions, as well as in concert programs.
After completing her stage career, Ludmila Viktorovna devoted herself to teaching. She taught classical dance and worked as a methodologist in the special disciplines department at the Almaty Choreographic School named after A. V. Seleznev. Since 2016, she has been teaching at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. During this time, her students have achieved significant success, becoming laureates of international competitions and holding leading positions in ballet troupes in Kazakhstan and abroad.
