A Student of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography Wins 3rd Prize at the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix

From November 17 to 21, 2025, the Budapest Ballet Grand Prix 2025 (BBGP2025), an international competition for young performers, was held at the Hungarian University of Dance (Budapest, Hungary).

The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography was represented by first-year college student Abilmansur Syrmanov.

The aim of BBGP2025 is to identify, support, and help promote the careers of talented young dancers and dance professionals, as well as to provide them with an opportunity to participate in and gain experience on the international dance stage.

A distinguished international jury awarded the student of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography 3rd place among all participants in the Junior category. A total of 77 competitors from 21 countries took part in the BBGP. It is important to note that the competition did not separate male and female performances, making the level of competition extremely high.

Abilmansur Syrmanov also received numerous special awards “in recognition of his exceptional talent and dedication”, including:

  • an invitation to study in the Dance Artist bachelor’s program at the Hungarian University of Dance for the 2026/27 academic year with a 100% scholarship;
  • a special award from Mario Radačovský for participation in the European Dance Competition Brno (Brno, Czech Republic) with a 100% scholarship;
  • an invitation for a one-week internship with Norwegian National Ballet 2;
  • an invitation for a one-week internship with the Semperoper Ballet from its artistic director, Kinsun Chan (Dresden, Germany).

Preparation for the competition was carried out under the guidance of classical dance instructor Aset Murzakulov.

The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography is proud of and congratulates the entire teaching staff who contributed their knowledge and training, as well as Abilmansur Syrmanov himself, on this achievement. We wish him good health, inspiration, and success in all future endeavors.

This trip to Budapest became possible thanks to the comprehensive support of the Public Foundation “Fund for the Development and Support of Ballet Art.”
