Last Saturday, the students of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography toured the city of Kokshetau. A concert dedicated to Republic Day was held on the stage of the Akmola Regional Philharmonic named after U. Ybyray.
The future artists were warmly welcomed by the city’s residents—with traditional dances, "shashu" (a Kazakh custom of throwing sweets or gifts), and kind words. A special surprise in the philharmonic foyer was the performance by the "Gakku" ensemble, led by the recipient of the "Excellence in Culture" award, Gulmira Ordabaeva—the dance "Toy Bastar" was performed, setting a festive mood for the entire day.
The concert program included classical choreography pieces set to music by D. Shostakovich, J.S. Bach, national dances of the peoples of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Poland, Mongolia, as well as Latin dance to a medley of songs by E. Presley and modern pieces to the music of M. Jackson and D. Washington. One of the numbers was choreographed by the well-known Chinese choreographer Shan Gao.
Each performance was met with enthusiastic applause. The sincerity, technique, and artistry of the young dancers won over the audience, who repeatedly shouted "Bravo!" The concert finale was accompanied by thunderous ovations—the entire hall gave a standing ovation.
