Last week, within the framework of the Erasmus KA 171 – International Credit Mobility program, a working visit took place at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography. The guests were Professor Anton Andonov, Vice-Rector for Research at the Academy of Music, Dance, and Visual Arts named after Prof. Asen Diamandiev (Plovdiv, Bulgaria), and his assistant, Dr. Vitaliy Yemelyanenkov.
Professor Anton Andonov conducted several practical classes for the Academy’s students, while his assistant, Vitaliy Yemelyanenkov, delivered a series of lectures.
The highlight of the Bulgarian guests’ visit was the staging of the Bulgarian folk dance “Sreshta” (translated into Russian as “Meeting”) set to traditional Bulgarian music arranged by Gencho Genchev. This performance will be a beautiful addition to the Academy’s repertoire, and the process of staging and learning the dance elements allowed our students to broaden their choreographic horizons—an experience extremely valuable for future professionals.
