On May 21, 2026, a festive gala concert was held on the stage of the Astana Ballet Theatre as part of the Republican Forum “Culture and Innovation,” dedicated to the Day of Culture and Art Workers.

A congratulatory speech was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva. In her address, she highlighted the dynamic development of the creative industry and the achievements of young Kazakh artists on the international stage.

As part of the event, a ceremonial award presentation honored distinguished figures of culture and art for their significant contribution to the development of education and culture in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2026, Svetlana Kokshinova, Head of the School-College of Professional Education at the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, was awarded the high state honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan — the Order of Qurmet.

The Order of Qurmet was established in 1993 and is awarded to citizens for significant contributions to the development of the economy, social sphere, science, culture, and education, as well as for active public service and dedicated professional work.

Svetlana Kokshinova’s creative career is an example of devotion to her profession and love for the arts. She is a ballet artist, choreographer-teacher, and Master of Arts Studies. She graduated from the Moscow Academic Choreographic School and later completed studies in choreography teaching at the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.

Previously, Svetlana Yuryevna received the title “Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the state medal “Eren Enbegi Ushin,” honorary certificates from the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as a Letter of Gratitude from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh National Academy of Choreography expresses its gratitude to the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva, for their support in the development of culture, including the art of choreography.
