Training on the Prevention of Gambling Addiction “Freedom of Choice”

Preventive sessions on the topic “Freedom of Choice” were conducted among 8th and 9th grade students of the vocational school–college, focusing on the prevention of gambling addiction.

Ludomania is not about a “weak character,” but about the illusion of control, intense emotions, and the loss of boundaries.

During the training, we talked about what truly matters — freedom of choice, which begins with awareness:

  • how addiction works and why “just stopping” doesn’t work;
  • where the line lies between interest and risk;
  • which internal traps most often lead to gambling;
  • how to learn to recognize the moment of choice before, not after, the consequences occur.

It is important not to frighten, but to teach young people to think, feel, and choose consciously.

Freedom is not the absence of limits. Freedom is the ability to say to yourself: “I understand the consequences.”
